Saturday, July 26, 9 - 11 AM: New Volunteer Orientation
Come make a difference for the animals and have fun too! Positions include dog buddy, cat cuddler, front desk assistant, vet assistant, foster parent, special events and PALS (Pets Are Loving Support) program volunteer. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. If you prefer not to be around the animals and still want to help, consider volunteering at our thrift store across from McDonald's in Lihue. For more information, call 632-0610, ext. 102.


Saturday, July 26, 11 AM - noon: Island Watch Dog Training
Learn how to become a goodwill ambassador and watch for dogs off leash at designated beaches and other public areas. Volunteers will learn effective listening skills and be given educational and other outreach materials to share with the public as they work in pairs. Call 632-0610, ext. 102 for more info.

We receive many orphaned animals -- mostly kittens who are very young and need some help growing up before finding a new home. If you and your family are willing to help temporarily raise some little ones, please come. This brief training will teach you about basic care and feeding, signs of illness, behavior training, etc. Supplies for orphan care in your home will be supplied by the Society. Call 632-0610, ext. 102 for more info.

We receive many orphaned animals -- mostly kittens who are very young and need some help growing up before finding a new home. If you and your family are willing to help temporarily raise some little ones, please come. This brief training will teach you about basic care and feeding, signs of illness, behavior training, etc. Supplies for orphan care in your home will be supplied by the Society. 6-week series of classes begins @ the Shelter. Fun with agility and some off-lead work will take you and your dog to the next step! Dogs should have had basic training and need to be able to sit and down on request and walk on lead. Class fee is $45. Click here for details!

ReikiThursday, September 11 (3 - 5 PM): Reiki Intro
Reiki is a form of natural hands-on healing which provides relaxation, promotes physical health, and reduces stress. Presented by Shalandra Abbey, Reiki Master, who has been teaching on Kaua'i since 1991. Introductory class is complimentary! The Reiki Natural Healing 12 hour class provides the ability to give self treatment, mini treatments and full hour treatments to people, pets, plants, etc. Continuing education credit available for nurses and massage therapists.
