Volunteering & Membership Opportunities

Come Make a Difference for the Animals!

We couldn't do it without you and the animals are so thankful for your time and comforting assistance.

The Kauai Humane Society depends on the support of committed, caring people to volunteer their time, talent, energy, and love on behalf of the animals.

The opportunities we have are quite varied from working directly with the animals at the shelter to helping us raise funds by working at our thrift store in Lihue.

Your valuable donation of service, regardless of whether you commit to a few hours each month or many hours every week, helps us better serve both the pets and people of Kauai who need our help.

Thank you for your interest in our volunteer program. We look forward to seeing you soon at our next orientation (see schedule below). The animals will be forever grateful.

Do You Like Working With Animals And People?

Humane Society volunteers provide a valuable service by helping animals and assisting in community programs. Volunteers also learn new skills, meet new people and find their work rewarding. The following are a few program policies:
  • Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to work alone. Children, aged 7-13, may volunteer with an adult.
  • We ask that you please wear closed toe shoes for your safety working with the animals.

How To Become A Volunteer

First, you need to attend one of our general volunteer orientations about Kauai Humane Society. Some positions may require additional training as well.
