We hope you find our website helpful in your search for information regarding Kauai’s animals. Please email us at khs@kauaihumane.org if you need anything further. The Society is Kauai’s only animal care resource center which welcomes, rescues, protects and shelters any animal in need every day, all day. With the growing demand for our services, we need your support to keep our doors open. Our work is good for Kauai and driven by the simple philosophy that kindness to animals helps build a better world for all of us. Join our team of dedicated staff and volunteers to help care for healthy animals, treat sick animals, advocate for protecting animals and educate about the proper care of animals. Become a member of the Society and recruit others to celebrate sharing our lives with animals. Donate your used goods to our Lihue thrift store to both help residents in need and raise funds for our critical community services in this fragile economy. And please, consider us first when you want to help the animals with a cash donation -- every dollar donated stays on Kauai to help our island’s animals. Many think we are a chapter of a mainland group such as the ASPCA, HSUS or Best Friend’s Animal Sanctuary and that we receive state and federal funding. We are not and receive no funding from any of them. We are a local 501(c)3 nonprofit established in 1952 by our community and are dependent on the generous support of Kauai’s animal lovers. Please join us in our work protecting our families and the great quality of life on Kauai. Mahalo,
Dr. Becky Rhoades
